Sometimes the space you need is already there, it is just in the wrong place. We open up layouts, remove walls and chimney breasts, put in steels and convert garages so the house works the way you live now.
Structural work is done to an engineer's design and signed off by building control. Around it, our team handles the plastering, joinery, electrics, plumbing and decoration, so the finished room looks as if it was always that way.

Common questions
Can I remove a load-bearing wall?
Usually, yes. A structural engineer designs a steel beam or other support to carry the load, and building control approve and inspect the work. We arrange the calculations and the approval as part of the job.
Can we live in the house during the work?
Often, yes. We plan the order of work, dust protection and temporary arrangements so you can stay at home wherever practical, and we will be straight with you if moving out for part of the job would be easier.
Do garage conversions need planning permission?
Many internal garage conversions do not, but some homes have conditions that remove permitted development rights, and all conversions need building regulations approval. We check this before quoting.
